Who we are

We are building up a team of people with different skills to join forces and pursue the same objective, that is developing the project aimed at plastic degradation all over the planet.

Federica Bertocchini is a molecular biologist. She specialized in early embryonic development of vertebrates. After obtaining her PhD at the DIBIT, S. Raphael Hospital, Milan, she specialized in early development of vertebrates, training in the USA (Columbia University, New York, NY) and the UK (University College London, London, UK). She started to work on insects and their capacity to degrade sturdy polymers (Bombelli et al., 2017) and is currently carrying on this line of research at the Centro de Investigaciones Biologicas -Margarita Salas (CIB), Spanish Research Council (CSIC), Madrid, Spain.

Nicolas Dubaut is a French multi-entrepreneur. A former telecommunications engineer, studying at CSU Long Beach, in California then Telecom Paris, he started his career at the rollout of the Bouygues Telecom network in France, then after 6 years of moving up the hierarchy, he decided to call it a career and started in 2010 his entrepreneurship journey. Beginning in Switzerland with  the locally sourced Holy Cow Gourmet Burger Company, after he expended it to France, he tried his hand at the Fitness business, owning 3 Viv’eden gyms in France and Switzerland. On the side, he started an Ecological Olive Oil Company in Spain: lavillajaen.com.
With 12 years’ experience creating, running and exciting successful businesses in a wide range of fields and in different countries and cultures, Nicolas joined Federica to launch Plasticentropy expecting to make a difference protecting the environment, by helping solve the plastic contamination problem.
